Community Gardens:
In 2018 we started a vegetable garden for our food pantry and harvested 600 pounds of produce. In 2023 we harvested 1,129 pounds!
The traditional in-ground vegetable garden is on a lot south of the Lisbon Rehab Center. In 2020 we added a butterfly garden near their building, which raised residents’ spirits during the long days of isolation. We were also excited to add 12 raised beds at the Lester Buresh Center.
Volunteers of all ages and abilities are welcome to join this project. You can ensure that everyone in our community can enjoy delicious, fresh food all summer long. We also love to accept donated produce from local gardeners and farmers. So the next time you plant too many tomatoes – think of us!
Special thanks to Linn County Master Gardeners for your continued support of our garden project.
