Through HACAP’s Operation BackPack program, SELCC provides bags of nutritious food to low-income Mount Vernon and Lisbon students every Friday during the school year.
Bags are distributed at school and include foods that are easy for kids to prepare. Thanks to the generosity of St. John’s Catholic Church, fresh fruit is added to the bags each week.
Sign-up forms are available at Lisbon Elementary School and Washington Elementary School in Mount Vernon. Eligible students may join the program anytime during the school year.
How can I help?
Volunteers sort food and pack the bags once a month at SELCC. Volunteers are also needed to deliver the packed bags to the schools every Thursday. Volunteer today to help hungry kids in your community!
