Southeast Linn Community Center provides free lunches every weekday during the summer to residents of Mount Vernon, Lisbon, and the surrounding communities. Meals are provided three days a week at SELCC; once a week at the United Methodist Church of Mount Vernon; and once a week at the First Presbyterian Church of Mount Vernon.
We work with the local school cafeteria staff to plan meals based on students’ favorites. All meals are prepared in our commercial kitchen by staff and volunteers. It takes more than 100 volunteers to make this program a success, so it’s a great opportunity for groups to volunteer.
In addition to enjoying a meal with your family and neighbors, you can take home fresh produce provided by our community gardens and local growers. We give weekend snack bags to each child at the end of each week, and, on some afternoons, we offer free enrichment activities for kids.
