Through HACAP’s Operation Backpack program, SELCC provides bags of nutritious food to low-income Lisbon and Mount Vernon students every Friday during the school year.
Volunteers deliver the packed bags to the schools every Thursday. Bags are distributed at school and include foods that are easy for kids to prepare. Thanks to the generosity of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, fresh fruit is added to the bags each week.
Sign-up forms are available at Lisbon Elementary School and Washington Elementary School in Mount Vernon. Eligible students may join the program anytime during the school year.
