Together We Share

The Southeast Linn Community Center (SELCC) offers many helpful programs for our neighbors. We also connect local residents to organizations in nearby cities that offer support. At SELCC, people living in Lisbon, Mount Vernon, and the surrounding areas can get assistance, volunteer, and join fun events that bring the community together.

We count on donations from companies, granting organizations, and kind individuals. If you would like to make a monetary donation to support our programs and services, you may use PayPal or Venmo. We also accept cash and checks. (Please note: When mailing a check, please use our mailing address.)

Volunteer Opportunities

You are vital to the success of SELCC. Whether you’re interested in helping out just once, or have time to contribute once a week or once a month, we have a place for you! November Pickup & Delivery Opportunities

Food Pantry

Pack food orders Mondays-Fridays from 9-11am, 11-1pm, and 1-3pm. Learn more.
Assist clients during drop-in hours Tuesdays from 8:45-10:45am. Learn more.
Unload truck and restock pantry Tuesdays 2-4pm. Learn more.

Kitchen Volunteer for Senior Dining

Tuesday-Thursday 10:30-11:30am. Sort items for Meals on Wheels drivers. Learn more.
Mondays and Fridays 10:30am-12:30pm. Sort items for Meals on Wheels and serve meals in-person to Linn Lunch Bunch. Learn more.

Bingo Caller

Call Bingo on Mondays and Fridays from 10-11:30am. Learn more.

Transportation

Volunteers drive neighbors to appointments in Mount Vernon, Lisbon, Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, and other nearby communities. Volunteers select ride requests based on their own availability. A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance are required. Mileage reimbursement is available upon request. Learn more.

Deliver Meals on Wheels

Weekdays 11:15am-12:15pm. Pick up meals at SELCC and deliver to homebound seniors in Lisbon and Mount Vernon. Learn more.

Deliver Food Pantry Orders

Tuesdays and Thursdays 9am and 1pm. Pick up orders at SELCC and deliver to households in Lisbon and Mount Vernon. Learn more.
